What SiteScore checks

Every score comes from deterministic checks against your live pages. The AI explains the findings — it never invents them.

SEO Audit

Titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, canonicals, indexability, internal links, alt text, schema and social metadata.

Technical SEO

HTTPS, redirects, robots directives, sitemap availability, status codes, broken links and duplicate pages.

Performance

Real Lighthouse measurements: LCP, FCP, CLS, Total Blocking Time and Speed Index, each explained in plain English.

Mobile

Viewport configuration, text readability, horizontal overflow, layout problems and mobile loading speed.

Content

Word count, heading structure, thin and duplicate content signals, missing key pages and call-to-action clarity.

Accessibility

Alt text, form labels, heading hierarchy, link and button names, ARIA references and keyboard order.

Local SEO

Name, address and phone presence, location wording, contact pages and LocalBusiness schema.

Conversion

Calls to action, enquiry forms, contact visibility, trust signals and above-the-fold messaging — heuristic, and labelled as such.

Built for website owners, marketers, freelancers and agencies.

What you get from every audit

Not just a number. A clear report showing what's wrong, the proof, and what to do next.

  • Overall website score

One score out of 100, built from fixed, weighted checks.

  • Category scores

SEO, technical, performance, mobile, content, accessibility, local and conversion.

  • Findings

Every issue we found, ordered by how much it matters.

  • Evidence

The page, what we detected and what we expected — so you can check it yourself.

  • AI insights

A plain-English summary and fixes, based only on the measured findings.

  • Reports

Shareable and PDF reports, white-labelled on the Agency plan.

How it works

We analyse the technical foundations, SEO, performance, content and user experience.

3

See exactly what's wrong, why it matters and what you should do next.

How we audit

We combine automated technical checks, real performance measurements and AI-powered recommendations — and we always tell you which is which.

Measured data

Page speed and Core Web Vitals come from Google's Lighthouse and, where available, real visitor data. If a measurement can't be taken, we say so instead of estimating.

Rule-based findings

Every score comes from a fixed rulebook of checks — missing titles, broken links, absent sitemaps and so on — with the same weighting for every website.

AI recommendations

The AI never inspects your website. It reads the findings above and explains them, prioritises them and drafts improvements. Recommendations are advice, not guarantees.

No audit tool can guarantee better Google rankings, and we don't claim to. We show you what's measurably wrong and what we'd fix first.

How the scoring works

Each of the eight categories is scored from its own checks, each worth a fixed number of points. The categories are then combined using fixed weights into one score out of 100 — the same rules for every website, so a change in score means your site changed.

Anything we can't measure reliably — speed when Google's test is unavailable, or text on a page that only appears with JavaScript — is marked "not measured" and left out, instead of being counted as a fail. Every report shows crawl coverage and a score confidence of High, Medium or Limited.

Frequently asked questions

What is a website audit?
A structured check of a site's SEO, technical setup, speed, content and usability that produces a prioritised list of fixes. SiteScore runs one automatically in about a minute.
What does an SEO audit check?
Titles, meta descriptions, headings, canonical tags, indexability, internal links, image alt text, structured data, social tags and the sitemap — on every page we analyse.
Is SiteScore free?
Yes. Create a free account to run audits; no payment card is required. Pro (£14.99 a month) and Agency (£59 a month) add history, AI tools, monitoring and agency features.
Can I audit a client's website?
Yes, any publicly reachable site. Paid plans let you save audits per client and export reports; Agency adds your own branding.
What does the SiteScore score mean?
It's a weighted average of eight category scores built from fixed checks. 80+ is good, 55–79 needs attention, under 55 is critical. Anything we couldn't measure is left out rather than counted as a fail.
Does SiteScore guarantee higher Google rankings?
No. No audit tool can. SiteScore shows what is measurably wrong and what to fix first; rankings also depend on competition and other factors an audit can't see.
